As one of the grant recipients of the MERRIGONGX 2020 Reboot, Illawarra based, ARIA nominated singer, songwriter, composer and artist Jodi Phillis brings you Lounge O’ Sound. This series of intimate, Saturday night gigs will be live streamed straight from her home to yours.
Jodi first made her mark on the Australian cultural landscape with alt-rock band The Clouds who formed in 1989. Since then she has forged a parallel career as an independent, influential solo singer/songwriter, producing five critically acclaimed albums under her own name. Jodi is also a founding member of The Dearhunters, Roger Loves Betty, and The Glamma Rays.
For this series Jodi has invited some of her closest musical friends and collaborators to hang out, create and share an hour of music with you! For this first event Jodi is joined by Suzie Higgie, the driving force of legendary Australian band The Falling Joys. As the singer, songwriter and instrumentalist in the group they’ve released three albums – all reaching number one on the Australian Independent Charts in the 1990’s.
They invite you to join Jodi Phillis and some of Australia’s finest music makers as they share stories and perform some of their classic songs from the 90’s, right through to their current compositions....
