This trip was AMAZING - our guide Jimmy was fantastic- enthusiastic & really knowledgeable, sharing historical stories, edible fauna and guiding our group through breathtaking daily treks to stunning waterfalls and unforgettable views. We were all expected to pitch in but this just added to the group bonding & we formed a close bond of special shared experiences & were able to spur each other on through the sometimes challenging terrain We loved our bush camping in secluded spots, falling asleep to the stars overhead & seeing their reflection in the water was priceless - Cannot recommend this tour enough.

It was great to be in the great outdoors, sleeping under the stars, walking with fellow travelers, and guided by Adam. He is incredibly capable and knowledgeable and a fun leader for the trip. He provided lots of salad and fresh fruit and catered to dietary requirements. The highlights for me included swimming in many clear, cool rock pools and camping a night on an island in Lake Argyle—lovely swim there too in the lake. It felt remote and we had a lovely sunset and sunrise. The Bungle Bungles are dramatic and had good walks there. The walk in El Questro Gorge was challenging, especially if you aren’t young anymore, with lots of clambering over rocks and boulders but it was satisfying to reach the pool at the top as a reward. All in all a great nine day trip, with great communications with Lucy prior to setting off. Recommend this adventure if you like to travel with a small group of people who like to pitch in with all activities and tasks along the way.

Brilliant trip - amazing country - wonderful experience. Jimmy our guide was fantastic - we had a few technical hitches, but he coped with good communication and good will. It's not a tour for the faint hearted, or those looking for conventional luxury and served meals. Many of the walks are quite strenuous and glambering over boulders and climbing rocks to get to waterfalls. We all helped pack and unpack the truck, set up camp, make fires, cook delicious meals, serve, wash-up... but sleeping under the stars in a swag is the ultimate in 'glamping' in my book and sitting around the camp fire laughing and sharing stories was wonderful.

We have just finished the tour from Broome to Darwin (which is actually 10 days) with Travelwild - Kimberley Adventure Tours. We were a family of 5 with my children being aged 28 to 30. I am 60 years old. The trip was absolutely brilliant for all of us but know what you are getting yourself into. We slept under the stars in swags. Toilet is a shovel and more often than not shower is the billabong. There is a reasonable level of fitness needed just to get up into the bus (High first step) so if you need a walking stick to walk in the outback this is not for you. Half the bus was in their 20’s and the other half in 50’s to 60”s. In the end what makes the tour is two things. The group and the guide. We were very lucky to have a wonderful group, although one member truly struggled with he physical challenge. What really made our trip was our guide. We were very lucky to have Niall. Simply put he is a champion and made for happy days. He kept the group together and interested. He was a laugh a minute and just simply an amazing guide. The bus itself was possibly the worst of the buses we saw. The company forgot to book our boat tour at lake Argyle and arrange a few other items. All this did not matter for Niall made up for it ll and made this one of the most memorable trips of all time. There were other tours that had everything run smoother than us however without Niall they simply missed out. So – You may find the company slow to respond and tell you misinformation about the demographics of who is on the bus but in the end the main thing to check is who is your guide and if it is Niall don’t miss this most wonderful experience.

Kimberley Offroad Adventure was a fantastic way to travel and see the rugged beauty of the outback. Adam was a very experienced tour guide that organised activities that created variety and enthusiasm. We booked in April. Unfortunately both Bungle bungles and Gibb River Road were closed due to residual flooding. The itinerary was also modified due to Covid borders. We were lucky to have some time in Katherine Gorge and extra time in El Questro instead. When the itinerary changed, Adam always had a suitable alternative. We had a fantastic trip. Notes for fellow travellers: Bathers- you spend a lot of time in bathers, including hiking. I would recommend packing several pairs and make sure they are comfortable for activity. Shoes- I decided to take an old pair of runners instead of my hiking boots. I felt like this was the right choice for me as there was a fair amount of hiking along dry river beds and the runners gave me good grip and allowed me to bounce between boulders, and dried really quickly. Laundry- there are washing machines in El Questro that is $5 a wash and takes $1 coins. Just pack some laundry powder scoops in a zip lock bag. Food- I am a fussy eater with a small amount of food allergy but found the meals delicious with lots of variety. Hayfever- the dry grass sent lots of people's hayfever and asthma into overdrive. Bring medication with you. Nothing like sitting on a bus with people sneezing in a pandemic. Camp chores- generally everyone pitches in to assist with camp chores. After a few days everyone finds their niche and the chores take no time. Maps- Google Maps shows a whole lot of nothing in the outback. I would recommend downloading a detailed map before you go. It's always nice to know exactly where you are. Whatsap- consider signing your group up to whatsap to share photos, maps, information as you go. Electronics- there are lots of usb ports on the bus. Normal plugs take a lot more time to charge. Label your cords. Earplugs- whilst it is lovely sleeping with the sounds of the bush around you, unfortunately we had at least one horrendous snorer in our group. Even physical distancing did not mitigate the issue. If things are really noisy, use Earplugs.

Experienced the most beautiful vistas. Adam knew the best lookouts, lagoons, chasms and gorges, plus the best time of day to take the magical photo. A trekking stick was really helpful in giving that extra bit of balance over those rocky pathways. The magical island stay in Lake Argyle, under the stars with the campfire going was certainly one of the highlights. Mitch, the boat operator was a treasure enhancing our experience with the wildlife. Adam shared his experience and knowledge of the terrain, the bird life ,flora, Aboriginal rock art, bush tucker and the walking tracks. The friendly group was a comfortable size, pitching in to set up camp and prepare Adam's generous, tasty and healthy meals. .A wonderful, wonderful 9 days.

This was my first time travelling with Adam & Lucy (and certainly won’t be my last)! This is a perfect way to explore the beautiful Kimberley region and little nuggets or hidden gems that you wouldn’t have known of if you did it with anyone other than Adam. Adam is filled with an abundance of historical knowledge of the land and events that occurred in the olden days which just made the trip even more insightful. He is very easy going and super warm, which meant the trip wasn’t rushed so you can actually enjoy each sight properly. Highly recommend travelling with Adam, something you won’t regret!

Kimberley Off Road Adventures did provide me with an adventure. You need to be prepared to sleep out under the stars and forgo some luxuries but it was well worth it. This is no glamping trip. However, if you want to experience the Kimberley and all it's beauty this trip is recommended. At times, we were able to camp out in beautiful places with no other groups around. Sitting around a campfire at night and just soaking up the peace and quiet. The Kimberley is a beautiful marvellous place and this tour is lead by a very genial, easy to get on with guide, Adam, who shares his love for the country and his knowledge. He is a very capable, friendly guide who made the trip so enjoyable. The trip notes are very comprehensive and ensure you are aware of the nature of the trip. I will be recommending this trip to my friends and anyone else who asks.
